Hulu’s How I Met Your Mother spin-off, How I Met Your Father, has officially premiered starring Hillary Duff, Francia Raisa, Chris Lowell, Kim Cattrall, Tom Ainsley, Tien Tran, and Suraj Sharma.
While HIMYF maintains a similar basic structure (Kim Cattrall narrates the series in the year 2050 as her character Sophie recounts her love life in the year 2022), the show exists in an entirely separate universe from its predecessor, HIMYM (or does it…?). However, they share a similar easy-going, laidback, comfortable sitcom vibe we’ve missed from the original.
The series has been modernized to fit into today’s dating landscape, which is timely (and sometimes cheesy) even if every joke doesn’t land just right. One thing this isn’t is predictable, and that will keep you coming back for more.
