‘Stillwater’ starring Matt Damon, Abigail Breslin, and Camille Cottin, directed by Tom McCarthy, officially opened in theaters today. I shared my full review of the film earlier this week, but this dramatic-crime-thriller is full of unexpected twists and turns.

This film is packed with pop songs, and with good reason, because our main character here is a wedding singer, and Alicia Keys served as one of the movie’s producers. Bring on the music!
‘The Last Letter From Your Lover’ hit Netflix last week, but before it premiered, I got to talk to director Augustine Frizzell about what it was like working with HAIM, who released an original song titled “Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache” for the film, and her involvement in the curation of the movie’s soundtrack.
While it has a heartfelt message that tries really hard, that message falls flat. Combining elements of a road trip movie with a coming of age and an LGBTQ drama, it all starts to feel like a little much when you toss it all in the salad at once. Everyone’s heart was in the right place here.
We all saw the commercial that premiered during the Super Bowl earlier this year (even though that already feels like years ago). With a phenomenal cast along with an instantly interesting premise, people (myself included) were excited to see what M. Night Shyamalan had up his sleeve for us this time.
Ted Lasso, one of the best shows on TV (or on streaming) is officially back for its second season on Apple TV+! Just like the last time we spent some time with these characters, your dopamine level will be through the roof in no time.
The comedic timing in this couldn’t be better. The balance is struck perfectly with the dramatic nature of the story supported by its realistic humor. It such a tender and direct story that gets right to the point.
The score composed for Pig features perfectly timed swells of music that just amp up the suspense. It fills the space with suspense and vigor, as if it needed more of that. The inflections of violin and string instruments are perfect for this film. The score absolutely matches the intensity Nicolas Cage brings to this film with his performance. Subdued but still brutal, this is honestly some of the best acting yet from Cage.
The creators of American Horror Story are back and packing on more horror with their new weekly anthology AHS spinoff series titled American Horror Stories with a different horror story being told in each episode.
