Nine Perfect Strangers is now streaming on Hulu, and it’s already shaping up to be one of the biggest shows of the summer (maybe even of the year?)! Based on the bestselling book by Liane Moriarty, Nine Perfect Strangers is set at a boutique health and wellness resort led by Masha (Nicole Kidman) promising its 9 guests a better way of living following their 10-day retreat.
Created by David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, The Undoing, Big Sky, Big Shot) Nine Perfect Strangers has one of the most star-studded casts on TV as of late. The 8-episode series stars Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale, Regina Hall, Samara Weaving, Melvin Gregg, Asher Keddie, Grace Van Patten, Tiffany Boone, and Manny Jacinto.
Each guest has their own trauma that brought them to Masha and the Tranquillum wellness retreat. There’s a lot of numbers involved here, but it’s a 10-day retreat involving a total of 9 strangers over the course of 8 episodes. This formula amounts to a show that is able to ride the line between thrilling, intense drama and perfectly uncomfortable, dry comedy. With this great of a cast, it was hard to go wrong, but the show really is addicting as you watch these characters deal with their addictions.
