One of TV’s funniest comedies is finally back, and The Righteous Gemstones are surrounded by more chaos than ever. Starring Danny McBride, Edi Patterson, Adam DeVine, John Goodman, Cassidy Freeman, Walton Goggins, Tim Baltz, Tony Cavalero, and Jennifer Nettles, while bringing in new cast members Eric Andre, Jessica Lowe, Jason Schwartzman, and Eric Roberts.
This season digs deeper into Eli Gemstone’s upbringing, unveiling some of his deepest and darkest secrets by way of his childhood friend (played by Eric Roberts). Jesse and Amber Gemstone are the latest Christian power couple to emerge, and they want to befriend Lyle and Lindy Lisson’s (played by the newest additions to the cast, Eric Andre and Jessica Lowe). Joe Jonas even makes a special guest appearance in the second episode. A New York reporter (played by Jason Schwartzman) is coming into town, poking around for dirt on the Gemstone family.
This satirical comedy is packed with incredible performances, and the writing couldn’t be funnier. The deadpan line delivery and surprising comments are unforgettable. There are few shows lately that have the power to just make you laugh out loud anymore while still keeping their own unique footing in reality (however heightened that reality might be).
