Pam & Tommy is the show that everyone is going to be talking about for the next few weeks, and rightfully so. As if the infamous scandal wasn’t enough of a conversation on its own, this series is here to break down what you probably don’t know about this astounding moment of pop culture history.
Pam & Tommy on Hulu stars Lily James, Sebastian Stan, Seth Rogen, Taylor Schilling, and Nick Offerman, and everybody is giving it their absolute all. The first three episodes are now streaming, but just wait for what unpacks in the weeks ahead.
The series tells the passionate love story of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee Jones, and it gets into how their stolen private sex tape impacted their personal lives and their professional careers in such a fascinating and revelatory way. Getting into the nitty-gritty of how there was (and is still) such a dichotomy between how males and females are perceived in this situation, how sexuality is a commodity, and the strain this scenario placed on the couple’s mental health.
This is said a lot for actors starring in biopics or playing famous celebrities, but Lily James and Sebastian Stan TRANSFORMED into Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee Jones for this show. The looks, the mannerisms, the voices… they’ve got it all down pat. I mean, Sebastian Stan doesn’t have any tattoos, and Lily James has an English accent and wears a prosthetic chest with loads of impressive makeup, so that tells you how much of a transformation — both physically and mentally — they had to go through to play the Baywatch star and the Mötley Crüe drummer.
There were clearly no limitations on the show’s budget, and that doesn’t seem to apply to the soundtrack either, so let’s dive into the songs featured in each episode…
