Film Review: ‘Attica’ (dir. Stanley Nelson) | TIFF 2021

A gut-punch in every sense of the phrase, it’s especially sad that a story of such racial issues and brutal from law enforcement is as relevant as it is today.

Super Soundtrack: “Only Murders in the Building” on Hulu

The show is so addicting. It’s so great to see Selena Gomez acting again, and the chemistry she shares with Steve Martin and Martin Short is incredible. The energy when the three of them are on screen together is really something special. It’s a murder-mystery drama, but there are subtle hints of humor that elevate this to something so much more than your run-of-the-mill whodunnit. It just feels so fresh to see a story unfold that is so unlike anything else out there.

Review: ‘Cinderella’ on Prime Video (dir. Kay Cannon)

Shooting for an over-the-top, inspirational narrative mixed with some fresh stylistic choices, this new take on Cinderella relies heavily on feeling modern and its star-studded cast to deliver a fun yet predictable fairytale.

Super Soundtrack: Marvel Studios’ ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is finally, finally, finally here after what feels like a lifetime of waiting. Along with the movie, there is also a companion album aptly titled Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: The Album featuring a myriad of Asian-American artists, which goes perfectly with the inclusive themes and global reach of the film.

I am always a fan of when music meshes with movies and TV, and this is a perfectly suited combination.
